If we think it's a bad idea to even indirectly allude that sinning is tolerable, it is just as bad an idea to directly tell people that they need to be doing Christian things.
Anything not borne of faith is sin. Whether it's the turn to the left or to the right away from that, matters little.

Michele, in a practical sense - how do you encourage a young (or old!) Christian to act in obedience to her faith without tolerating sin?
That's a good question, one that takes more wisdom than I think I own.
I can't help but think of how God endures us when we are sinning or are deceived.
There is a form of godliness that is without the power of God. But we aren't after the cheap imitations.
