Thanks Michele. I asked Tim to send my love and best wishes and to let me know if there is any specific way we could help. If you could do likewise I'd be grateful.
Kc, sure thing.
Jim replied to the text relaying your wishes and love and the prayers of you (Kc) and Gary too, saying,
Thanks, still a small air leak in the right lung puncture from broken ribs, so they still haven't taken out the chest tube, hopefully in the a.m.
Jim left a comment at Tim's blog. What a stinker, typing while still unable to breathe on his own :D
Jim's out of the hospital or will be shortly, and he sounds to be in good spirits!
I'm praying for, Jim! Thanks for sharing this!
Actually made it in time to teach my first hermeneutics class at Denver Seminary on Aug 31 and have been going up twice a week since then...though up to the present, I've had to be taxied both ways. Which means I have to be sociable to my drivers.
Thank you all for your faithful intercession. This bunch of folks rocks!
Thanks for leaving the update Jim! It sounds like it will take some time to fully recover. It cannot be fun to teach with a neck brace, isn't that what I heard you mention? :(
The neck brace came off every time I began to teach . . . the neurosurgeon said "Use judgment," so I did. And I'm driving again as of this week. Now, whether it was good judgment . . .
In any case, the continuing pain and lack of stamina are very helpful in "taking the edge off" my high-octane personality so that I haven't scared off too many of the students yet. :-)
Just glad to be upright at this point.
